Thus far, Natural, Fire, Ethereal, Seasonal, Magical, Mythical, and Supernatural Monsters are the only classes of Monster to have a Rare variant of Monsters within their class. Compared to Common Monsters, Rare Monsters have longer breeding times, have different Likes, different egg designs, and they generate more Coins/ Shards. Instead, they are actually new versions of the Monsters already in the game and they comprise one class, "Rare." Rares exhibit many of the same traits as their Common Monsters, including, but not limited to, song and animation (except for the Rare Wubbox), breeding combination, and general size. There is also a small chance of producing a Riff or Rare Riff from a failed breeding attempt, using an Riff and a non- Single Element Monsters.
T-Rox+ Tweedle is a close second, because it has low average times in case of failure. Of these, Congle+ Noggin is the best combination, as failing and breeding a Noggin lets you retry the combo almost instantly. However, the combination of a 3-element with 1-element monster has higher rate of success for getting a Riff instead of one of the parents as the outcome:
The following pairs of 2-element monsters can be used to breed a Riff: The Rare Riff can be bred using monsters that combine to provide all the elements Cold, Air, Water and Earth, just like its common counterpart. Rare Riff has a great coin production, which can be useful before getting its Epic form or other Monsters with higher coin production. By default, its breeding time is 1 day, 6 hours, and 30 minutes long. Its breeding combination is the same as its common counterpart. It is best obtained by breeding or by purchasing from the StarShop. As a Rare Monster, it is only available at select times. It was added on May 8th, 2015 during Version 1.3.3. Rare Riff is a quad-element Rare Monster.
